At the junk yard down the street there is a '70something x, i pulled the switch out of it to see want i was up against, and the radiator fluid came out. DUH. any way, is it ok for me to take mine out and quickly put the new one in? i don't want to get any air in the works. if i do get air in the works, is there a bleeder valve somewere at the top of the radiator to let it the air out?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->James,
how about someone ready with a bucket of water/solution to fill the reservoir as required during your front work ?

Option: Same bucket temporarily plumbed into the reservoir.

Good luck,

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->HA!

Seriously though... if ya haven't changed your fluid for awhile... now is a good time.

If you have... then try changing it quick... or drop the radiator to the ground and change it quick. In either case, you can point the car downhill and refill it, or jack it up in the rear... and refill it... or bleed it off.

Your choice... just part of owning an X!

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->I found it helpful to block up the front wheels when bleeding the rad.

I also used one of those adjustable inspection mirrors and an inspection lamp to look at the bleed nipple as I was loosening it to check for air bubbles.

While doing all this don't forget to start the car and rev it up with the heater lever fully on to clear out any air from the pockets in the sysetm. It will all eventually collect in the rad so you can bleed it off.

Good luck!
