About one week later, semi-leveled, some tooling set up, DRO set up, LED light set up.
Thread gearing arrived wonky, resolved after some time with the manual and swapping gears.
Threading now matched the chart.

The Phase Perfect single phase 240VAC to 240VAC 3 phase converted has worked good so far.
Problems with the PP has been a broken cover (shipping) and a wonky display problem that is in the process
of being resolved, more on this later. The PP has no issues staring the 5hp motor, silent except when the cooling fan comes on,
power efficient (running current is 4-5A @ 240VAC input, goes up with loading, better than a rotary phase converter).

The Mori Seiki MS850 is one of the nicest lathes used to date. This includes Hardinge HLV, Monarch EE & 62, Cazeneuve HB500/550, others.
Significant upgrade from the Grizzly G4002 that has served for over a decade used for making/repair of stuff from home repair to moto parts and much more.

Is it wrong for a lathe to make me salivate?
Not at all...

Work on set up continues...

~Moved the DRO display to the carriage. Now, the DRO display can be placed on the headstock or carriage. The mount slides on-off on a 1" 4340 steel tube post.
~Added a LED spot light on the carriage. Second hole on the carriage mount can be used for coolant if needed.

Set up most often used tuning tools, placed on top of the headstock.

Pretty much good to go now. Still in the process of leveling and will need a headstock oil change soon (about 4 gallons of Mobil DTE light) and top up the carriage with Mobil Vactra-2 way oil and other oil inlets as needed.

Of the big lathes (Cazeneuve, Monarch, ....) used to date, this is one of the nicest to date.
